Open for online and phone orders and continuing with Curbside Pickup for the social distancing win!

Heads up: winter storms they are a-slowing down the book trucks.

We're happy to say we're still here, persisting, looking forward to spring, building snow forts, and socially distantly putting books in people's hands. Here are a few good reads we're looking forward to in the next few weeks:

Feb 23rd

Isabel Yap, Never Have I Ever
— our latest book. Our website says we are out but we have copies coming Thursday. Call if you'd like to order! —

The Raconteur's Commonplace Book: A Greenglass House Story by Kate Milford

March 2nd:

Pre-order your signed copy of the
new edition of Emily Nagoski's Come As You Are

Cassandra Clare, Chain of Gold

Pre-Order Amanda Gorman's poetry collection The Hill We Climb and picture book Change Sings.

Can't wait until we all get our vaccines and can open again (in June?). Case numbers are getting really high and by March the new more-transmissable Covid virus is expected to account for most cases so we're not going to do in-store appointments but we are here Monday-to-Saturday, we have the books, the puzzles, and the recommendations. Thanks for shopping local!

Our website shows our supplier's inventory. We have a small percentage of that million+ books.
We can get most within:
— 2 days (nearer warehouse)
— 5-7 days (further warehouse)
— occasionally longer (high demand/backlist title)

Some good books from 2020

We do Curbside Pickup like this
— Place your lovely book orders on this website or by phone: 413-203-1717.
— Select either
—— "I would like to pick this order up at the store" under "Pick-Up options"
—— Or, under "Calculate Shipping Costs" choose "In-store pickup" (which means Curbside Pickup) or "Curbside Pickup + donation" (if you'd like to donate to the ECC).
— If we have the books in stock, we'll call or email so that you can pick them up. If we have to order the books we will contact you with an estimated pickup date. We'll reach out again when the books arrive.
— Call when you're at the store, give us your name, and we'll put your books on our Curbside Pickup chair so that we can stay socially distant from one another!

Check out Amanda and Beth's topical book recommendations on the Bookshop — buy books from that site and support us, or, your fave website or indie bookshop!

Thanks to your support we are sending out mail orders almost every day.

We have 12,000+ books in the store and millions more available from our suppliers. Most of our booksellers are working from home (sign up here for our newsletter). You can:
