These are terrible times and we fully support Black Lives Matter and donate to Color of Change, bail funds, &c. One bright spot to me is the number of people reading books such as Robin DiAngelo's White Fragility and Layla Saad's Me & White Supremacy — so much so that both books (plus plenty more like them) are out of stock and we're all waiting new copies to arrive. When we opened, we had an activism window and sold many copies of these books and those like it. Easthampton is a questioning and forward-looking reading community and we are proud to be a part of it.
Website open 24/7. The physical bookstore closed on March 15.
Open Mon-Wed 12-5; Thu-Fri 12-6 for Curbside Pickup:, walk up sales, and window shopping.
Curbside pickup works like this
— Place your lovely book orders by phone (413-203-1717) or here on the website.
— Either select "I would like to pick this order up at the store" under "Pick-Up options"
— Or, under "Calculate Shipping Costs" select either "In-store pickup" (which = Curbside Pickup) or "Curbside Pickup + donation" (if you'd like to donate to the ECC).
— If we have the books in stock, we will arrange pickup (or you can come Mon-Fri, 12-5). If we have to order the books we will contact you with an estimated pickup date. We'll reach out again when the books arrive.
— Call when you're at the store, give us your name, and we'll put your books on our Curbside Pickup chair so that we can stay socially from one another!
We're going to be very cautious and expect to be among the later group of stores to open any further.
If you can, please consider adding a donation to the Easthampton Community Center to your order, thank you!
